Dr. Lisanne Anders joined Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg in September, 2020. She obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she was selected for a bilateral exchange program with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Dr. Anders completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Throughout her training Dr. Anders received multiple awards for her research, including the Emerging Liver Scholar Research Award and the Resident Research Award. She also worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar with the University of Louisville’s Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Dr. Anders is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures including Upper GI Endoscopy (EGD), Esophageal Dilation; Screening, Surveillance and Diagnostic Colonoscopy, and Video Capsule Endoscopy.

Dr. Anders also has a special interest in the areas of Gastrointestinal Motility Disorders and Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBIs) and is versed in High-Resolution Esophageal Manometry and Anorectal Manometry. She was chosen to participate in a clinical training program sponsored by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, where she focused on Motility and DGBIs disorders at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Anders is credentialed with most insurance plans and currently has medical staff privileges at Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital. She performs procedures at both hospitals as well as our office-based Endoscopy Suite, and is looking forward to working at our brand-new Fredericksburg Endoscopy Center scheduled to open in December 2020.
